SK-LCD Field Terminal’s Firmware Update:

  • SK-LCD Terminal Firmware, rev 1.16

Changes with this rev:

  • This firmware update allows the SK-LCD Terminal to connect to the SK-720 Flybarless unit, while maintaining compatibility with the SK-360.
  • This version has been slightly changed as of July 26, 2010 in order to be compatible with both the older LCD-terminals with the clear cases, and the newer lower-priced units with the molded translucent cases. There is no other change.

The fourth update for the SK-360’s PC setup software and firmware includes:

  • SK-360 Setup Software, rev 1.10
  • User Manual, rev 1.10
  • SK-360 Firmware, rev 1.10

Changes with this rev:

  • Dual servo-endpoints, to allow the swash to be trimmed level at both max negative and max positive collective.
  • An option to use the A4 port for remote Hiller Gain and Bank switching (similar to the way tail servos have both a rate and heading-hold mode, with gains for both).
  • Changes to internal parameters to limit tail-bobbing in elevator on some helicopters.
  • Smoother collective pitch for helicopters using high-end super-fast digital servos.
  • The “vibration filter” feature has been changed so it does not need user adjustment.

Notes about this rev:

  • The file format of the setup file has changed with this rev. In order to not lose your heli’s SK-360 setup, you must save your setup profile to your computer’s hard drive first from the File menu of the old rev of the setup software. Only then should you upgrade to rev 1.10 of the software and firmware.
  • Run the new installer, then upgrade the firmware as per the 2nd-to-last page of the user manual. The new firmware (hex) file can be found in the directory “c:\Program Files\DigitalFlybar\”
  • Once you have installed the new interface software and updated the firmware, go to the File menu to load your old setup. At the bottom of the dialog window, select , “Files of Type : sk1 Profiles”, and load your old setup profile.
  • Your old profile will now have been converted to the new format, and can be sent to your heli’s SK-360.
  • Please read section 13 of the manual version included with this download for further instructions, found under the Help menu item of the setup software.

Some users have noticed that recent gyros shipped with firmware rev 1.04. The only change that occurred with rev 1.04 was to match a change to the circuit board of new units, done to make the SK-360 easier to manufacture. There is no advantage for older units to update to rev 1.04 instead of 1.03, though it is harmless to do so. But units that ship with rev 1.04 should not be loaded with lower firmware revs. All future firmware updates can auto-detect the circuit difference, so compatibility will be kept for all units.

The third update for the SK-360’s PC setup software and firmware includes:

  • SK-360 Setup Software, rev 1.05
  • User Manual, rev 1.06
  • SK-360 Firmware, rev 1.03

Changes with this rev:

  • Setup software now includes a “Show Actual Gains” feature to help understand how the Hiller & Bell gain dials and the Advanced Tab settings work together.
  • Other small changes to the setup software to make it more user-friendly.
  • Firmware changed to solve a compatibility issue with some Futaba radios (those with 70 Hz servo outputs).

Notes about this rev:

  • The changes to the setup software are recommended for all users.
  • But the most users will not need to update their firmware, unless you’re using a Futaba radio and have been experiencing servo twitching. The new firmware (hex) file can be found in the directory “c:\Program Files\DigitalFlybar\” Be careful with the option button – press just hard enough for it to click slightly.

Changes with this rev:

  • Users can now custom-tune the tail drag compensation
  • Further improved vibration resistance
  • Cyclic stick off-center-at init alarm is suppressed in setup mode

Changes with this rev:

  • Ability to use 90-degree eCCPM swashplates
  • Setup Software compatible with 64 bit Vista / XP OS’s
  • Improved vibration resistance
  • Improved self-diagnostics in flight mode
  • Alarm if the cyclic stick is off-center at initialization
  • Slightly extended spool-up “high stability” time (now 4 seconds)

Notes about this rev:

  • First run the new installer, then upgrade the firmware as per the 2nd-to-last page of the user manual. The new firmware (hex) file can be found in the directory “c:\Program Files\DigitalFlybar\”
  • Be careful with the option button – press just hard enough for it to click slightly.
  • The LED will now show an error alarm (flash red) if the cyclic stick is off center at init while the option “Auto Trim at Init” is in use. This is true even in setup mode. It can be reset by cycling power.
